Reviews...

Dedicated to the healing of the heart, and considered "an album of epic proportions" by critics, the music is propelled beyond earthly confines with Demby at the electronic podium. She combines the rich melodicism of the Russian masters with the sublime aspirations of Bach, then blows them both out of the water. "...a full spectrum journey ... larger-than-life..." Through much of AEterna the grand piano sings the dominant voice. This album has a way of going into the heart and healing suppressed feelings by bringing them forth, and then cleansing and clearing them with a sonic therapeutic bath.

"AETERNA will remind some people of Vangelis at his best, -- at the same time,- expect a lot more than Vangelis offers in a single album."- Microsoft Network

"Sure to become a classic, here is the music of the 21st century...Beautiful beyond words, this incredible release from Constance Demby easily receives my highest recommendations."
- Omega Directory

"Contance Demby literally helped shape New Age music with Novus Magnificat. ....this is some of the most heart opening, grandly expansive music I have heard in a long time. AETERNA is exquisite from beginning to end. All in all, a remarkable tour de force." - Steve Ryal, NA Retailer

"This
fantastic, transformative recording picks up where Constance Demby's widely acknolwedged masterpiece - Novus Magnificat - left off. Trust me you will be venturing deeper and deeper into this album for a long time to come. AETERNA is destined for many top-ten record-of-the-year lists. - PJ Birosik, NA Retailer

"Deep, profound, passionate, spiritual... Demby sculpts a living soundscape that heals the soul." - Desert Sounds Review

"A remarkable tour de force, the lushly romantic sounds remind one of
Rachminoff and Tchaikovsky."

"With Aeterna, Demby taps into the styles of Romantic composers such as Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, and Anton Bruckner; this means stirring up emotions.
The album begins with "The Dawning," which has the orchestral colors and the bright hopefulness of Grofe's dawn movement of The Grand Canyon Suite. "Ocean Without Shores" is a piano concerto that surfs themes wave after wave. The three-part "Innocence" has quieter spaces: a star-spangled hall with chimes and a delicate waltz, but later a cautious piano stalking through an orchestral canyon.
"Cry of the Heart," with its ponderous pulls and deep musings, features the mournful cello as the solo instrument. The broad piano/orchestral themes in "Eternal Return" is powerfully sweeping.
The final suite,
"Rites of Passage," acontains Demby's most dynamic melodies and orchestration balanced with wind sounds and moments of abstract sonic dangling. The piano theme then reappears with the smoke and thunder of dragons. The next reappearance of the theme moves upscale with angel choirs, and eventually Demby brings the piece to plateaus of sonic serenity.

If you actively listen to the whole album, it's quite possible your ribs will ache with cathartic anguish.
If so, then Demby has succeeded; she dedicates the album to "the healing of the heart" and reexperiencing and releasing buried emotions. This awe inspiring and glorious album isn't the "free ride" of Novus Magnificat. This trip with Aeterna must be actively engaged, at least in the beginning listenings, as some music requires your full participation in order to receive the entire emotional impact."

"If there's a more spiritually moving album...you get my drift... So many emotions this conjurs up. You're left with a feeling of total reverence. Superlative classical space masterwork." -
"Head Music" Par Excellence List

"I was carried away and churned up by the themes, then delivered to a place of inner reckoning. With the increasing intensity and moody depth in the symphonic sections, my core was fully exposed and my ribs ached with long-buried sobs. Demby has fulfilled her mission and has forged a sturdy path with this album. The only question: Is the world ready to take the journey?"
- Carol Wright, NAPRA Review

"AETERNA is to experience the deepest sadness, the most profound joy, and the spaces in between..." - KSOR , Ashland , OR

"An album of epic proportions....a full spectrum journey.... larger-than-life.... stands aside from its 'new age' counterparts with their, generally speaking, polite atmospherics."
- Ambience

"The greatest release since Sgt. Pepper's ! (maybe I exaggerate a bit, but it is good)

Listener Response:

"You weren't kidding when you wrote that this album was for healing the heart. I started crying hard on the first hearing of Aeterna, When I listened again I had an even stronger experience and started to cry violently. Is this typical? Do most people do the types of things I'm experiencing? I have been a left brain type of guy and this stuff is something I am not used to." - Rick

"21st Century Bruckner
Arguably one of the greatest albums released, in any genre, during the last ten years.
This is new-age Bruckner: sweeping, awesome, majestic, deeply spiritual music devoted to the care of the soul. Demby creates vast cathedrals of delicate sonic textures, rich with melody. Spirituality pours fourth from this work everywhere as if from some other sphere beyond our own. You can play this album right alongside any of Bruckner's later symphonies and see the parallels: both of these two great composers have been touched by an angelic spirit, and have given us a glimpse of that higher Wisdom that reduces all our little problems instantly to nothing - if we could only tap into it, make it our own! That is what touches me so deeply about this great work. It has not taught wisdom to me, but it has helped me to glimpse it ever so fleetingly. And that in itself is a magnificent achievement. May you be so fortunate." - DR Greenfield. Illinois

"...I personally had such a profound emotional and spiritual experience that I wasn't able to even talk about it for over a week. This music literally penetrates the body and processes the emotions and the emotional barriers that keep people from remembering who they are and why they're here. This is the thing about your music that is so powerful -- it tends to penetrate below the conscious mind and activates a remembrance or a recall of something very familiar, very deep, that is actually what I think is the core of a human beings awareness or consciousness. I just can't listen to it enough. " - Valnn Dayne Spears, Regenesis Institute

"As for AEterna's gift , so low in physical price, worth at least ten million more, I can only say that 15 years ago I lost an entire position of my Assemblage Point, and yesterday, I got it back. Where everything I loved and cherished had been scorched, boiled and fried to a crisp, and was in fact lost and unavailable, AEterna gave it back, squared and doubled. I feel I will never have The Sadness again.." - Danny Russell

"I had read about how your music can cause men to cry. Having never experienced anything like this before, I dont really know how to explain what happened. I was listening to Ocean Without Shores, At the start of the song I was immediately immersed in the music - my eyes started watering, but by the end of the song i was a mess. I had cried to your music before, but never like this. my face and body started to crumple and i was sobbing uncontrollably. I don't think i have ever cried like that before.  The strange thing was, I had no idea why i was crying. I've always heard people mention spirituality, and a higher consciousness, and a soul, but have never really connected in any way with anything like that. This is probably the closest i've ever come to a spiritual awakening. It was beyond any emotion I have ever experienced before. I wasn't sure whether they were tears of joy or tears of sorrow. It was one of the few times I had 'experienced' music, rather than just listening to it." - Anonymous

"This music in it's subtleties heals ares of the mind and spirit that I did not even know needed healing, that is until the dam broke. It is hard to put into words the feelings that Aeterna evokes...a revolutionary approach to healing." - Steve Davis, ChiGong Master

"Although I have listened to Aeterna a number of times, I never listened to it with the specific purpose of being HEALED. I want you to know that the effect was all you said it would be -- and more. I feel my inner child and I have made a great start and I do believe that Aeterna, played over and over, can indeed, heal the inner child. I am listening now with a new ear and fully expect to continue to heal rapidly now that I have been introduced to its magic." - Bill Reilly

"Best thing since "Chariots of Fire"
Constance Demby is one of THE best artists since Vangelis wrote "Chariots of Fire."
Her music is VERY much in Vangelis' ranks: genius-level, and like Vangelis' music, Connie's music makes a connection with my soul to the Universe like nothing I have ever felt before. And so her music makes me wonder why NPR's always getting the shaft!" - A music fan from U.S.

"AEterna, is an integral part of my cellular breath training, and without it I would not be seeing the amazing and transformative and healing results I do. The ways in which your music touches the soul, the empowerment of emotions, is truly powerful. So many are being blessed through your profound, uplifting, exquisite music. - Bart Rudulf

The Eternal Aeterna Appeal,

Well it had to happen eventually- an IMMEDIATE contender for my
top five "desert island" CD list. Demby has outdone even her own high standards and has created a true "classic" that grows in importance with each successive hearing. Piano lovers will revel in the simple, poignant way the instrument is used (always audible yet never overwhelming the orchestral timbres.) The Rites Of Passage movement is especially beautifully constructed and is an 18 minute journey that will leave you alternately enthralled, enlightened, amazed, bewildered and ultimately transfixed. Anyone that cares deeply about music should obtain this CD as soon as possible. WARNING: It is habit forming and may need to be attached directly to your hip!! Pure ecstasy at a reasonable price! - David DeLucia

"This album ranges from elegance to poignancy to sheer magnificence, and reaches a sophistication that leaves one wondering how one person could perform all this. Constance Demby's music quickly stands heads and shoulders above most of the rest... you have to be careful: it is all too easy to overdo because you want to listen to it again and again." - Miami, FL

"No other music I've heard can so consistently awaken in me the memories and knowledge of the experience of being in eternity. Her music pierces straight to my soul and at the same time lifts me to the highest, deepest heavens...it has spoiled me for just about all other new age music. AETERNA is for me the most beautiful and exquisite music I have ever heard." - D. Peterson

"Aeternal Enchantment
Prepare to enter a realm of profound sonic vistas, delving deep into the stirrings of your heart. This music is healing and mysterious and majestically enchanting.
You can't help but to let it soak into your deepest reaches. If you want something magical, something profound... Aeterna is for YOU. To listen to it is to love it. It captures a spectrum of emotion. This is one of Constance Demby's DEEPEST CDs, and it is one of her most vividly MOVING creations, especially the last selection, Rite of Passage. When you hear this, your soul will envision GRAND THINGS and be uplifted into pure enjoyment. It is the ultimate climax to such an exhilirating CD. AETERNA is one of her FINEST. If you've never journeyed into the realms of this kind of music before, then Constance Demby's AETERNA is the ideal 'First Guide' for you. You will THRIST for more of her music after hearing it." -Chai Gallahun, Aiea, HI

"Magnificent!

In composition, performance, and sheer emotional power, Aeterna not only equals but surpasses Demby's earlier work, the justly-acclaimed Novus Magnificat. If you liked Novus Magnificat, Aeterna is a must-have album! Aeterna is a more classically-oriented work centering around piano, with synthesizers playing a strong supporting role, and the music is at turns tender and intimate and grandly inspiring. Perhaps Demby would be pleased to know that Aeterna is
one of my most-listened-to albums when I need inspiration in my writing; the music has a way of opening my heart and imagination to find the emotional inspiration I need to really connect with a character or event in my stories. All I can say is that I cannot recommend Aeterna highly enough: The music is finely crafted and emotionally intense, and you probably won't be disappointed if you buy it. If you are, send me your copy, in case mine wears out!" - Secular Pagan Minneapolis

" I honestly believe the "The Dawning" on Aeterna is the best song for Prayer ever created. It's length, strength and spirit are the 10 minutes every human should begin every day in prayer and meditation with. I thank God for you and your work! - kelton drew earl

"Aeterna is much more symphonic in form than Novus Magnificat, and because of this, has great crossover appeal, reminding me of Rachmaninoff. Demby's emotional palette is sweeping and soul stirring. Listeners who appreciate romantic style compositions will be thrilled by Aeterna - Demby's best effort to date." - Steve Rohner Wichita, Kansas

"Euphoric Orchestral Space Music!

When I first listened to this CD,
I had long been a loather of New Age music. However, I gave Constance Demby a chance, since she had been recommended to me by someone who was not a typical New Age music fan. Anyhow, I'm extremely glad I did listen to the CD. This is extraordinary music! There was a time when I once came home from work after having an intense argument with a co-worker. I put this CD on and within minutes I felt like I was floating some kind of ethereal cloud! This penetrating effect of Constance Demby's music has never ceased to amaze me." - eric

"This is music from Home...I can taste the love in every phrase...it reminds me why I am here, (obviously you have never forgotten.) I am reawakened, I am re-quickened, I am again in absolute harmony with the all of the Infinite." - GC Porter

"A música para a alma
,
Conhecer a música de Constance Demby foi uma descoberta maravilhosa. Novus Magnificat, Aeterna etc são discos que aquietam a alma, doces ondas sonoras" - from Brasilia, Brazil

1. THE DAWNING.
This piece works with the WILL; there is a gradual increase in the tempo and the power and the infusion of forward motion, propelling the listener forward and outward into expansive states. If you were in a sluggish depressed mood before hearing this piece, you simply cannot remain in that state after being bathed in the rays of these get-up-and-go will-power tones! Use your I AM statements with this piece if you like, SHOUT them if you feel like it! And play the music LOUD...Low vibes will run out the door with this piece of music....

" I honestly believe the "The Dawning" on Aeterna is the best song for Prayer ever created. It's length, strength and spirit are the 10 minutes every human should begin every day in prayer and meditation with. I thank God for you and your work!
- kelton drew earl

2. OCEANS WITHOUT SHORES.
This oceanic piece brings forth effulgent waves of energy and big passionate swells of ecstasy and power. (One listener said like it was Space Opera.) These first two pieces on Aeterna can potentially change your frequency; if you are in low energy or feel sour and have lost the will to go forward, you cannot remain the same afterwards. Play them LOUD, turn up the bass frequencies, and state affirmations if you wish. Use the potent combination of Sound, Word and Intention together, and let the tones and frequencies deliver the messages to your subconcious. Remember that sound is a carrier wave for intention, ....so GO FOR IT !

3. INNOCENCE. Innocence brings forth the healing of the inner wounded child, the shattered core, the feelings of being a stranger in a strange land. The first section represents the cocooned pre-incarnate state, before the soul incarnates on Earth. The middle part, when the piano comes in with its haunting melody, gently takes one down and in, to meet those repressed areas buried inside, the sadness and the early childhood wounds that are hidden deep within. Let the music bring forth any sadness that lies buried behind the vale of tears in the heart. If you feel like crying, let it out! (especially the men...read letters from men) The last part of the piece, brings forth a soothing harp and a flute that speaks almost like a guardian angel soothing and washing away sadness...

4. CRY OF THE HEART. This piece deals with a more mature grief: the grief of separation from Source, or the "illusion" of separation from Source. Slowly, the majestic tones bring one down with descending minor thirds to meet the buried grief. Then - at a certain point - an answer appears, the descending minor thirds turn around and evolve into major ascending thirds, like the sun coming out from behind the clouds. If you feel like weeping, let it out...!

5. ETERNAL RETURN. This happens to be one of the composers favorite pieces... there's something about that melody. The middle part, when the clarinet and guitar enter, represents a kind of lonely lost feeling....another tone to explore and process. The third section is the full expression of the theme with brass and chorus, let your heart swell and expand with the grandeur of these tones... such a healing in this piece! And the composer can assure you that Beethoven was over her shoulder as this piece came through.

6. RITES OF PASSAGE. The final piece is like a mini symphony, almost like the journey of the soul through time and space. The themes are heavy-duty, deep, solemn and reflective. It's weight and length allows one to come to completion after all the chakras have been opened, cleared and cleansed by the previous pieces. As we complete the journey, our chakras can now gently close their seals, the energy body is realigned, we have been touched down to the cellular DNA level....

REDEMPTIVE TONES inherant in the music

Aeterna contains "naturally redemptive tones." That is, it can bring up whatever issue hasn't yet come to the surface, and in the process of bringing things up, it also delivers the emotional tone that heals the issue it activated.

Simply continue to listen, breath through the emotions that come up, and allow them to clear through the tonal session. For some, the experience is simply like listening to beautiful music. For others, it can be like a therapeutic session, and for some, they may cry like a baby. (see letters below) ..."
I had cried to your music before, but never like this. my face and body started to crumple and i was sobbing uncontrollably. I don't think I have ever cried like that before." )

GUIDANCE for THERAPISTS:

COMBINING SOUND and WORD
In your sessions, you can experiment with using Aeterna to bring up your clients issues. You can combine your verbal guidance with the music playing in the background. Try it with Innocence, and Cry of the Heart.

SYNERGYSTIC EFFECTS
When you combine left brain (word) and right brain (sound) material, you get a synergystic effect; your words will go in DEEPER as the right brain experiences the activating tones
